Spanish independent art curator based in Madrid. She was a Fulbright Fellow for the MA in Curatorial Practice at School of Visual Arts. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country and Sheffield Hallam University, and an MA in Contemporary Research and Creation, from Complutense University of Madrid. Since 2015, has worked as a Cultural Manager at La Nacional – Spanish Benevolent Society, New York and in the curatorial/curatorial department of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation in New York. Lecue has been a curatorial fellow at the Queens Museum, and has assisted Neville Wakefield, artistic director of the contemporary art biennial Desert X, held in Palm Springs, California. Noelia has curated independent exhibitions in various spaces such as The Future of Labor at the Pfizer Building, Brooklyn (2018), Vessels (2019), Nature Visions (2018), La Nacional, New York or Génerx: del dicho al hecho at the Instituto Cervantes, New York (2018). She has recently been Press and Communications Coordinator at TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary in Madrid and is currently working on the presentation of her upcoming exhibition Easy Apply! A generation of Slashers and Early Burnout at the Sala de Arte Joven de la Comunidad de Madrid, as winner of the 14th edition of the Se Busca Comisario Open Call.
Noelia Lecue Francia es comisaria/curadora española con sede en Madrid. Es graduada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad del País Vasco y cuenta con un Máster en Comisariado en SVA School of Visual Arts, Nueva York gracias a una beca Fulbright (2016-18) y un Máster en Investigación en Arte y Creación por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Desde 2015, Noelia ha trabajado en La Nacional – Spanish Benevolent Society, una organización de 150 años, en el centro de Manhattan, definiendo y promocionando los eventos culturales junto con las exposiciones de arte. Además, ha sido becaria curatorial del Queens Museum, y ha trabajado en el departamento de comisariado/curadoría del museo y fundación Solomon R. Guggenheim de Nueva York. También ha sido asistente de Neville Wakefield, director artístico de la bienal de arte contemporáneo Desert X, celebrada en Palm Springs (California), y ha comisariado exposiciones de forma independiente en diversos espacios como The Future of Labor en el Pfizer Building, Brooklyn (2018), Vessels (2019), Nature Visions (2018), La Nacional, Nueva York o Génerx: del dicho al hecho en el Instituto Cervantes de Nueva York (2018). Recientemente ha sido coordinadora de prensa y comunicación en TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary en Madrid y actualmente está trabajando en la presentación de su próxima exposición Easy Apply! A generation of Slashers and Early Burnout en la Sala de Arte Joven de la Comunidad de Madrid, como ganadora de la 14 edición de la convocatoria Se busca Comisario.
